The FITC Web Unleashed 2022 conference opened last week in Toronto with this intense title sequence designed and animated by Colombian motion designer and self-described graphics nerd Daniel Alvarez.

Daniel Alvarez: “This piece was a very ambitious project for only one person to do and there were so many things that I wanted to try at first that didn’t make it to the end result.

“Furthermore, I was faced with a dilemma: To work on it every moment I had in my spare time, or to get help from colleagues to finish it in time. Getting help from others meant that I had to manage and schedule work for everyone and to make sure everyone was on the same page while using their spare time to develop the shots.

“This on its own was hard work. Work that would take time that I could be using to develop the piece. Although, working on this alone had one caveat: I had to cut some corners to deliver a piece that would make FITC proud and satisfied but that I knew I could have pushed further.

“Thankfully, the sound is so epic that it makes the piece look amazing. And, at the end of the day, once delivered, everything came together really nicely making us all proud and happy to have the opportunity to participate in such an amazing and popular conference.”
