Melbourne animation director and illustrator Kate Isobel Scott’s ambitious stop-motion epic has earned a place in pop culture history as the official music video for one of the most-played songs of all time, Pink Floyd’s “Money”.
Scott, who also creates ceramics, paintings, and illustrated children’s books, counts Adobe, Amazon Music, Google, Greenpeace, Sony Music, Stella McCartney, and The New York Times among her commercial clients.
“I’ve always been amazed by the iconic visuals and animations within the world of Pink Floyd, and I’m beyond excited that my animation is now a tiny part of their incredible universe.”
Kate Isobel Scott: “Although this project was a lot of work, it was very rewarding watching my characters come to life like magic. I’ve always been amazed by the iconic visuals and animations within the world of Pink Floyd, and I’m beyond excited that my animation is now a tiny part of their incredible universe.”
The video was produced thru Everyone Agency (who reps Scott globally) and Snotmotion, the Melbourne animation studio run by Scott and artist/filmmaker Jordy van den Nieuwendijk who served as DOP on this project.
The film was one of 900 “Money” entries in Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary Animation Competition and was selected by a jury including Monty Python animator Terry Gilliam and director Kyle Balda (Minions and Despicable Me 3).
