Somehow we missed this joy-filled, explosion of character design from Buenos Aires studio Plenty and the local office of 1stAveMachine for whatsApp when it first came out, so we’re making up for it now.
From the team at Plenty: “The purpose of the WhatsApp sticker program is to bring users closer together by helping them communicate effortlessly. To achieve this, stickers must be useful, expressive, relevant, and always help push real uncomplicated communication.
“The purpose of the WhatsApp sticker program is to bring users closer together by helping them communicate effortlessly.”
“Being a creative destination fueled by real human connection, WhatsApp needed to provide a range of options, a big spectrum of communication, where all stickers are designed for real maximum expression, both in meaning and style.
“The WhatsApp palettes are warm, have inclusive skin tones, and a wide value range for accessibility to help users feel close. Color is also used to achieve brand distinction and visual cohesion across disparate styles.”
