Chinese designer/director Xi Luo, who lives and works in Frankfurt, Germany, crafts a delicate balance of form and detail in this film for a quirky asymmetrical sneaker from Shanghai-based fashion footwear label CHOCO CONCERT.

Xi Luo: “This film was created for CHOCO CONCERT’s representative product, the Circle & Square series. The creative inspiration comes from the perspective of ‘rethinking common sense’. The aesthetic core is based on the relationship between body and clothing in Oriental culture, and draws on the Oriental philosophy that ‘the circle embodies the divine, the square reveals what is known’.

“In other words, Circle represents the infinite awe of the unknown world, while Square represents the things that mankind knows and can explore and control.

“By deconstructing, reshaping, and swapping, the film breaks free from the shackles of common sense, breaks the inherent impression of sportswear style, and puts forward bold ideas for daily wear, such as ‘my left and right feet are different’, creating a unique asymmetry and personalized practicality with a sense of balance.”
