Paris art director and motion designer Matthieu Braccini pays his respects to M.C. Escher and the British father/son team of Lionel and Roger Penrose by extending their optical paradoxes into playful 3D animation.
Matthieu Braccini: [Escher and Penrose] constructions work by playing on perspective rules and mixing art and mathematics. With 2D drawing it can work pretty well but what about in motion? Is it achievable with true shadow and a moving camera?
“With a bit of coding here and a pinch of post effect there, here is the outcome of my research about optical illusion.”
