Using the pandemic as context, CDs Ilya Perevedentsev, Valeriy Lunchuk, and their crew at Superdesigners in Moscow look at “the conflict between the human urge to create and environmental constraints” in a haunting new inhouse film.

Ilya Perevedentsev: “Our studio’s first creative output after a planet-wide break explores the conflict between internal and external discipline. In what way is human perception affected by the incompatibility of creative impulses and external systemic constraints, and why does this inevitably result in an explosion of inner freedom?

“Here, we channel our expectations, anxieties, and fantasies about the shadowy manifestations of the environmental human footprint. These feelings are subjective, so the main idea is to synthesize them into a single whole, a kind of open-ended sensory history.

“Shared emotional experiences demand an artistic interpretation; ours is based on the human tendency to seek common goals. The next stage of human history will take place at another altitude — fasten your seatbelts and put your seats in the upright position.”
