Stephen Goalby Joins Parliament as Creative Director and Head of Design

From the release:

Independent VFX and creative studio, Parliament has welcomed Stephen Goalby as creative director and head of design. The studio, which was established in 2020, has quickly become one of the go-to VFX houses in the US, and has been responsible for the VFX on multiple high-profile Super Bowl campaigns.

In an exciting yet anticipated move, the studio looks to take the next step in its evolution, as it strives to become as known for its design capabilities as it is for VFX. With Stephen at the helm, Parliament is poised to become an all-encompassing creative force.

Stephen joins with over 20 years of industry experience encompassing commercials, theme parks and blockbuster films. He garnered global attention after designing the four minute opening title sequence to James Bond, ‘No Time to Die’, as well as notable projects for Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ film and Universal Studios ‘Jurassic World’ theme park.

After spending seven years at Framestore London, where he was elevated to head of design, Stephen moved brand-side to become design director at Sky Creative. Now joining Parliament, he brings a wealth of experience across mediums and brands to this new challenge, as he begins to shape Parliament’s design offering and grow the team from the ground up.

Reflecting on his appointment, Stephen said, “The opportunity to collaborate and grow Parliament’s design division, that’s the biggest pull for me. I’m amazed by the work, it’s a brilliant portfolio at four years old, and to be part of that is exciting in itself. But then to be asked to bring my background of 20-odd years in design and merge that all together with all different mediums – immersive, design, VFX – that’s super exciting. Pinch me!”

Phil Crowe, founder of Parliament, commented, “Our goal at Parliament has always been to foster a creative culture centered around our artists. Stephen’s world-class talent and ability to design for rapidly evolving canvases and technologies speaks for itself; but it’s his approach to his craft, collaborative nature and charisma that make him the ideal leader and perfect choice to grow Parliament’s design offering. (Plus he’s a Northerner, so that’s an added bonus…)”

Krystina Wilson, who heads up Parliament’s Creative Tech and Design initiatives added, “Stephen is an immense talent, but more than that an incredible human being. I think I skipped around my home office screaming, ‘He said yes!’ when he agreed to join the team… because I have experienced first hand what he is capable of. A passionate artist and a wonderful friend… I’m so grateful I get to grow this incredible offering with him, working at a creative powerhouse like Parliament.”
