Over the last two years, Brooklyn director/animator Jack Maschka set aside chunks time away from paying gigs to create this adventure about an alien and a space seed that bestows “unimaginable strength and mysterious magical powers.”

Jack Maschka: “The real challenge on this project was that it was completely self-funded. Which meant that I had to sneak production in between freelance bookings.

“However, I started to notice that working in shorter stints didn’t work very well and every time I’d get into the flow of things I’d get pulled into another booking and would have to start the whole process over again.

“What I found worked best was to save up and take off larger chunks of time, around two to three months. This helped me feel less torn between the two worlds of working and producing/directing the incredibly talented crew I was able to get for this piece.”
