Andrew Pope, a partner and principal Flame artist at Hero Post in Atlanta, captures the inherent calm and satisfaction of fine joinery in this minimalist and mesmerizing CG short film called Dovetail.

Andrew Pope: “My intention was to create a meditative minute of material that builds a subtle intensity and then exhales back into a calm, relaxed resolution.

“I was inspired by the Greyscalegorilla wood textures, and thought they would look great as a dovetail joint. This idea lead to research that revealed all the wonders of Japanese joinery and the idea of showcasing a variety of joints and creating some of my own. The Asche and Spencer music track set the perfect tone for the film.”
