After a successful festival run, CalArts grad and Pixar animator Lucas Fraga Pacheco (Soul, Coco, Cars 3) just released his short film Sopro, a wonderfully told childhood drama, online.
Lucas Fraga Pacheco: “Nighttime in the forests of Southern Brazil, a group of scouts plays an outdoor game by candlelight. When one timid scout is partnered with a reckless bully, the game takes an aggressive turn.
“The events depicted in the film aren’t autobiographical, but I had many valuable formative experiences as a scout in Brazil, and these memories have served as inspiration in bringing the story of Sopro to life.”
English captions are available but we found the carefully crafted story-telling makes them unnecessary.
