NotReal Mixes it Up for Microsoft Windows 11 Campaign

Building on their previous work for Microsoft (see here and here), the NotReal motion team layers up a snappy mix of graphic design, illustration, and CG to showcase how Windows 11 integrates with the daily lives of its users.

Roberto Connolly, EP at NotReal: “Microsoft approached us with an enticing proposition: to collaborate on expanding the Windows 11 campaign. Understanding the essence of the software resides in the hearts of the people who engage with it on a daily basis, we embarked on a comprehensive journey to create a resonant and engaging experience.

“The first step was to develop fictitious brands that could help represent different consumers, each embodying distinct lifestyles and needs. To bring these personas to life, we then crafted detailed scenarios that illustrated where these individuals live, work, and use Windows 11 in their daily routines.
 

“Understanding the essence of the software resides in the hearts of the people who engage with it on a daily basis, we embarked on a comprehensive journey to create a resonant and engaging experience.”

 
“We envisioned these digital backgrounds not merely as backdrops but as extensions of users’ daily environments, evoking a sense of familiarity and warmth, hence the concept of live-in spaces. Additionally, we developed agnostic scenarios to depict evergreen situations, ensuring the campaign’s relevance and adaptability across various contexts.

“This was one of the largest projects we’ve produced at NotReal and a big challenge for the studio. The list of deliverables was broad, including varied assets for the fictitious brands, creating realistic and agnostic scenarios and conceptual designs in CG, and producing a series of animated mixed-media videos for different channels. The project schedule spanned five months with a team of 40.”
