Creative studio Modern Logic today announced that Timothy Williams has joined as Executive Creative Director. Part of the Monstera Group and sister studio to production company Lord Danger, Modern Logic specializes in creating standout brand-centric design, animation, and visual effects (VFX) work across platforms.
With an extensive background in creative direction and building dynamic teams, Williams’ credits span projects ranging from elegant and cinematic to dynamic and impactful, including the highly regarded OREO Pokémon campaign and Clio Award-winning opening titles for Netflix’s The Irishman. He often takes a technology-forward approach to design and shapes projects through creative problem-solving.
“In my view, the best idea wins, agnostic of tools and styles, but there also has to be substance behind the pretty pictures if you want someone to care about it. Modern Logic is a place where innovation thrives and talent is encouraged to explore and experiment to create work at the highest level possible,” noted Williams. “What they’re building is really interesting and I’m pumped to help lead this next chapter.”
“Timothy is incredibly skilled, and has excellent taste. He brings a fresh perspective, rooted in deep experience, to our studio, and we’re excited to have his expertise as an artist and a mentor,” said Modern Logic Executive Producer Monica Reimold.
“Timothy is a futurist, as well as humble, direct, inclusive, and laid back. When I heard him describe himself as a ‘gentle wizard,’ I knew for sure it was a perfect cultural match,” added Monstera Group CEO and Founder Michael Bennett. “We are looking forward to his leadership and approach to design challenges.”
A classically trained artist, Williams has worked with more than 200 brands, doing graphic design, VFX, and animation for Meta, Apple, Google, MTV, Nickelodeon, Motorola, CBS All Access, Paramount, Warner Bros., National Geographic, and Disney, among others. He has also collaborated with the NFL and NHL, creating work for the leagues and individual teams such as the New York Giants and the Golden State Warriors.
Prior to joining Modern Logic, Williams was a Creative Director at Framestore, where he led the US design team. He also spent time at Imaginary Forces in various roles, including helping run the internship program, and worked on high-end opening titles and video game cinematics at Blur Studios for several years. Williams’ work reflects a live-action sensibility combined with an eye for intentional creative design.
