ManvsMachine’s visual adventures with website building platform Squarespace (see here and here for prime examples) continue with a masterclass in shiny pneumatics touting the brand’s collab with artist Jeff Koons.
From the team at MvsM: “The brief was very concise; dive into the mind of Jeff Koons. Following a re-imagined awakening of his most iconic balloon sculptures, enjoy their complex affirming reflections, as we breathe life into these contemporary monoliths.
“A lengthy R&D phase was used to explore inflation in depth – iteratively honing the weight, thickness, stiffness, and pressure of our metallic material.”
“It was key for us to represent Jeff’s artwork as he intended. His iconic balloon sculptures convey a positive permanent optimism, which contradicts a real balloon’s temporary fragility, this was the crux of the campaign.
“Balancing the playfulness of balloon animals with the immaculate, imposing nature of Jeff’s large-scale finished sculptures presented a real challenge. A lengthy R&D phase was used to explore inflation in depth – iteratively honing the weight, thickness, stiffness, and pressure of our metallic material to create simulations which felt both engaging and realistic.”
