The latest 3D exploration from the team at C A T K in Berlin is a five-minute, data-driven opus of melting abstraction that “seeks the beauty and artistic potential in the algorithmic recreation of real-life occurrences.”

From C A T K: “The enthalpy of fusion, the changing of aggregation states, which absorbs or creates energy, helped us define an algorithm that models this change from liquid to solid. Within that, we discovered the tremendous artistic potential to visualize the moments in between and beyond.

“We use the data created throughout our algorithmic real-life recreations to imagine a magical visual world that immerses you into an abstract flow of color, shapes, and music.

“The music underlines this flowing change behavior with its constant modulations of one theme. The short ‘Heat’ is about the beauty of change and transformation.”
