The CLAN Team, a multidisciplinary design collective based in Lisbon, just pounced onto the Stash radar with this frenzied, intricate, and surgically assembled blast of CG motion for Puma’s Velophasis sneakers.
Anton Shavkero, director at CLAN: “The client asked us to create a unique setup at the intersection of technology and archaeology – a balance between technology and the spirit of exploration that catches the eye of the target audience.
“The sneaker is called Velophasis, a reference to dinosaurs, so we decided to come up with a visual language that combined both sides. We thought that we should focus less on the storytelling and more on beautiful and compelling visuals, accompanied by the explosive custom music.
“The client asked us to create a unique setup at the intersection of technology and archaeology – a balance between technology and the spirit of exploration.”
“Our team decided to visualize an avatar of a modern day hero who, by putting on sneakers, would become a city superhero. The protagonist also wears a modern technological exoskeleton, giving him the strength of reptiles. The main challenge was to find the energy that comes from both tech and archaeological relics and implement them into some organic symbiosis.
“If you look closely, his exoskeleton has six wings, a reference to the seraphim, who were the most powerful of the angels. We also took real bone meshes and then sculpted them to make the organic form.”
