The next chapter of Bungie’s action MMO game Destiny 2 snaps into sharp focus in this trailer directed by Ilya Abulkhanov who marshaled production and VFX teams from The Mill studios in LA, New York, Chicago, and Bangalore.

Ilya Abulkhanov: “The intent was to depict an action-packed stance in the ‘super-mega-cosmo’ city of Neomuna. We wanted to establish the intricacies of technological architecture both vast and claustrophobic, submerged in noir-like darkness where battles unfold.

“Utilising hand-keyed animation and motion capture, our VFX artists were able to breathe life into Destiny’s newest characters and latest environment called Neomuna. Fresh powers introduced in the trailer were realized through hand-keyed animation and FX simulations as well.

“Our goal was to reveal both the interconnected cast of characters as well as the ability to wield a mysterious source of energy – the ‘ultimate’ weapon against the invading forces.”
