Director Julian Chen and the team at Taiwan design and motion studio MixCode take a lighter approach to the theme of a sustainable and hopeful future by casting an irrepressible robot and sidekick drone in their new Pause Originals short.

From Pause Fest: “The 2023 Pause Originals mirror a concerted global move towards a sustainable future, taking
cues from the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Doughnut Economics proposed by economist Kate Raworth. The films serve as a canvas where the stark reality of today’s challenges meets the whimsical allure of tomorrow’s possibilities.

From MixCode: “We are honored to participate in 2023 Pause Originals and explore the world beyond 2050 with everyone. Inspired by the wide use of drone reforestation around the world in recent years, we created a lonely robot performing terraforming tasks in a vast wilderness.
