Gavin Sew, 3D motion designer in Singapore: “The latest addition to the PRISM+ smart home lineup is the Oasis LED Ceiling Fan. Taking reference from its namesake, we decided to explore the concept of a desert transforming into a lush oasis to demonstrate the wave of cool the smart fan provides.

“The rest of the scenes transport viewers back to the home setting to demonstrate the various other product features, such as the smart app and fan customization options.

“This project posed a number of unique challenges. For one, this was my first time using Houdini in a commercial project. I spent many hours mastering the relevant skills and techniques to create and transform the dusty particle effects into the verdant flora used in the opening sequence.

“There was also an aspect of deadline crunch on this project as I was given just three weeks to complete the full 60-second video. Being the sole contributor to the film, I had to learn how to use new software and manage my other projects in tandem to meet the stringent timeline.”
