Following on their series titles for Band of Brothers and The Pacific, Imaginary Forces take to the sky for an epic two-and-a-half-minute sequence of cinematic drama and WWII airborne heroics for Apple TV+.
From Imaginary Forces: “One of the most unique aspects of this story is where it’s fought. We took flight 25,000 feet above homes, concentration camps, foxholes, and generals. Honing the principles of past titles, we painted a heroic portrait that sought to feel timeless, not trendy.
“We made an intentional effort to use the sky’s POV as a backdrop in unpacking the unbearable environment airmen fought in and the liberties they longed for.”
“By interjecting the chaos and carnage of WWII airfare an evocative juxtaposition of heaven and hell is formed. With vignettes that maximize that contrast, the sky was our dominant motif. We made an intentional effort to use the sky’s POV as a backdrop in unpacking the unbearable environment airmen fought in and the liberties they longed for.”
Based on the book by Donald L. Miller, executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, and starring Academy Award nominee Austin Butler, Masters of the Air follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group as they conduct bombing raids over Nazi Germany.
