The Digital Design Days 2024 festival opens Oct 6th in Milan with this title sequence by the team at Territory Studio in London blending classical art and architecture references with austere motion design and typography.

Dorian Thomas, ECD at Territory: “Our creative approach to this sequence speaks to both the past and the future of design. We drew heavily from classical European influences, incorporating Greco-Roman architectural elements and symbolic Freemason iconography.

“Focusing on these rich, historical visuals created a sense of timelessness while also ensuring the animation felt elegant, smooth and relevant to today’s landscape.

“Our motion design coupled simplicity with attention to detail. The falling elements were designed not only to reveal the names and titles of the speakers but to also symbolize the gradual unveiling of expertise – a nod to the craftsmanship and knowledge-sharing that defines the industry.

“We partnered with Combustion Studio in Brazil for the sound design, creating an immersive soundscape blending a traditional and orchestral sound with subtle hints of futuristic technology.”

Overall, this approach enabled us to fuse classical artistry with modern motion design, and, for us, it was a celebration of how tradition informs innovation.
