Sylvain Gaussens Explores the Mercurial and Mechanical in New “Dreamers” Short Film

Paris-based 3D artist Sylvain Gaussens, whose previous CG motion experiments we covered here and here, recently dropped a dramatic new short film called Dreamers that he describes as a “personal playground”.

Sylvain Gaussens: “Dreamers explores the contrast between the madness of dreams and the rigidity of reality. By transforming ordinary structures, I bring them into a new world where mundane objects come alive, creating a unique dreamscape. And in time, dreams become darkness.

“When I started the project, I explored many different creative approaches to find the right look. I also had a lot of fun experimenting with procedural scaffolding, textures, and lighting. It was a fantastic opportunity to experiment and learn from mistakes.”
