Robin Volk, managing director at motion design studio STYLEFRAME in Frankfurt: “We had the chance to produce a film for German sneaker pioneer Hikmet Sugoer’s new shoe, the SONRA Topkapi.
“In the Fatih district of Istanbul next to the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, and the Sultan Ahmet Mosque is the Topkapi Palace. Inspired by the oriental tiles of Topkapi, this SONRA shoe is made of super soft suede with vegetable-tanned lining.
“Since we only had two weeks of time, we decided to 3D-scan the shoe in our studio (roughly 400 photos with a Sony Alpha 7R ii) and remodel the sole. We used Cinema 4D with Redshift and Houdini FX to create the animations.
“The music is also composed by us, with additional sound design and mix/master done by our friends at Playroom Studios.”
