Finally clear of all his distribution deals, Canadian director/animator and graphic artist Robert Valley just made his celebrated animated short Pear Cider and Cigarettes available online for your viewing pleasure.

The gritty and atmospheric 35-minute opus (and the graphic novel of the same name) are based on a true story with the film garnering an Annie Award and a nomination for Best Animated Short Film at the 2016 Academy Awards.

More recently, Valley directed the “Zima Blue” segment from season one of the Netflix adult animated anthology Love, Death & Robots and “Ice” from season two – with both films produced through Passion Animation Studios.
