3D motion design studio rfvisuals in Seoul, South Korea, combines motion capture of professional golfers with carefully executed cloth simulations to showcase the design and technically advanced fabrics of Callaway Apparel.
Rui Figueiredo, CD at rfvisuals: “Callaway entrusted us with a new video to showcase their iconic collection of performance golf outerwear. With innovative fiber technologies, the brand wanted a video that stated ‘quality, performance, and functionality is as important to golfers as the equipment they use’.
“We embarked on a mission to craft a full 3D dynamic piece that exudes both the finesse and intricacies of the world of performance sports clothing.”
“With this in mind, we embarked on a mission to craft a full 3D dynamic piece that exudes both the finesse and intricacies of the world of performance sports clothing. We created from scratch all the outfits and 3D avatars to be able to match the realism and dimensions of the clothes as close as possible.
“We worked with motion capture clips recorded by professional golfers specifically for this spot. We decided to keep all simulations in slow motion for the final film but still capture the movement of the clothes at real speed. It was one of our biggest tasks to date and we’re really proud to share the final film with the world.”
