Pier Paolo, a Brazilian 3D motion designer/art director currently based in the Netherlands, just dropped us his new short film KNTC MCHNS(), a minimalist, smile-inducing experiment with fully dynamic 3D objects.
Pier Paolo: “The film was created using 3D physical simulations, no animated keyframes involved. It was very challenging to work with the unpredictability of simulated objects because you cannot fully control the outcome.
“I had to run multiple simulations and experiment a lot with the physical parameters to be able to create a story and a continuity for the film. But that was also one of the interesting parts of the project: seeing how the machines evolved and how the computer could help me to tell a story.”
