If you love character design and animation, you’ll find the ultimate blend of both in these incredibly diverse shorts programs just announced by the always-fabulous Pictoplasma Festival which takes over Berlin May 3–7.

The 2023 official animation section showcases 66+ carefully curated narrative shorts, music visuals, and experimental animation by character innovators like Felix Colgrave, Eoin Duffy, Felipe Di Poi, Stephen Irwin, Opertura, Junyi Xiao and Britt Raes, with many of the filmmakers in attendance to discuss their work in Q&A sessions.
