Nicos Livesey Trips Through Epic Time-Lapse for BritBox

Blinkink director Nicos Livesey heads up an insanely ambitious, craft-centered spot for the streaming service BritBox – a 90-second time-lapse journey through highlights of British TV shot in a single take over the course of 14 hours.

Shot at one frame per second using motion control, the spot follows an actor’s continuous transformation through 11 different sets and was produced in collaboration with UK prosthetics and special makeup studio Millennium FX thru agency Uncommon Creative Studio.

“We wanted to capture that thrill of watching something unfold in real time, where every element – performance, camera movement, costume, make-up — has to align perfectly.”

Nicos Livesey: “For me, this project was all about celebrating the craft of filmmaking – the magic of transformation, the precision of choreography, and the human ingenuity behind every frame.

“We wanted to capture that thrill of watching something unfold in real time, where every element – performance, camera movement, costume, make-up — has to align perfectly. It’s a testament to the skill and dedication of everyone involved, and a reminder of why real, tangible filmmaking still has the power to mesmerize.”
