Master CG stylist Javier Vallejo at JVG in Madrid conjures 30 seconds of iridescent CG optical art in this collaboration between Meta, hip-hop magazine The Source, and California eyewear brand Blenders.

Javier Vallejo: “With this project, we aimed to capture the vibrant energy of summer without relying on typical clichés. The challenge was to maintain the product as the central hero while building an energetic, colorful world around it.
 

“One of the most significant challenges was developing a unique shader effect that stayed true to the product while adding an extra layer of visual interest.”

 
“From a technical perspective, one of the most significant challenges was developing a unique shader effect that stayed true to the product while adding an extra layer of visual interest. The reflective, iridescent textures required extensive experimentation to find the right balance between realism and stylization.

“Rendering this intricate effect also presented its own challenge, with each frame taking several hours to complete. Ultimately, brute computational power was needed to achieve the desired look without sacrificing quality.

“The film also features multiple rhythm changes that had to flow seamlessly in such a short duration. This was particularly demanding in terms of syncing motion with music, ensuring the dynamic shifts felt organic and unified.”
