from the release:
Following over a decade of success as individual directors at Nexus Studios, Jack Cunningham and Nicolas Ménard have launched Eastend Western, a new creative partnership signed to Nexus Studios and dedicated to pushing the boundaries of animation.
Working with brands like Apple, MTV, and MoMA, Jack and Nicolas have mastered storytelling across 2D, stop motion, and CGI. From their East London base, they create films that are rich with poetic narratives, meticulous craft, and memorable world-building.
The distinct atmosphere of Eastend Western’s films stems from great care and attention to detail no matter the technique employed, be it 2D, stop motion, or CGI. This love of artistry has earned the trust of global clients counting Apple, MTV, and MoMA to create films that captivate and inspire.
Jack Cunningham’s playful experimentation and technical expertise have led to standout projects for Google, Vitra, and The New York Times, as well as the iconic 1600 app for President Obama’s White House. Nicolas Ménard, a Québécois filmmaker, has received worldwide acclaim for his films, including Wednesday with Goddard, which earned SXSW’s Jury Award for Best Animated Short.
