Creative director Hazel Baird at Elastic: “[For this title sequence], director Kamilah Forbes wanted us to stay away from triggering and violent images that we constantly see in the media and on social platforms and instead, be a colorful celebration of black culture.

“So we used a paper texture style and filmed most of the scenes using a stop motion technique. The edit and the ripped paper worked well with the music as we transition from one scene to the next creating an uplifting feeling of hope and joyfulness.”
