Italian motion designer Gabriele Calvi, whose animated work ranges from the enigmatic to the effervescent, just dropped us his latest personal project: a jaunty 90-second exercise in complex walk cycles that takes a light look at serious Habits.
Gabriele Calvi: “This film is a whimsical yet darkly humorous exploration of everyday vices, brought to life through a collection of quirky characters. Each character embodies a different (bad?) habit, presented in a way that juxtaposes a playful visual style with the darker undertones of their actions.
“I wanted to delve into the clash between visual style and content, creating something that feels light and funny while dealing with relatively dark themes. I think this contrast adds a thin layer of depth to the narrative and makes the viewing experience more engaging and thought-provoking.”
