From the release:
Friends Electric are pretty damn chuffed to announce the arrival of stop-motion and multi-discipline director Chris Ullens to the Friends Electric roster for representation in the UK, US, and Amsterdam.
Chris is a Belgian director who lives and works in London. After graduating in Brussels, Chris completed his masters degree in London at Central St-Martins with distinction (Clever Boy). He then started working as a stop motion animator. A few years on, he’s worked on high-end commercials for Red Bull, Kirin Ichiban Beer & KFC, and his music videos are known for their bold, creative, and playful character, which have earned him multiple awards in festivals across the globe. To date he has worked with artists such as Rex Orange County, London Grammar & Fergie.
Chris has this to say about joining Friends Electric: “I’m delighted to join the strong team that is Friends Electric. They always put out striking and eye-catching work. With their expertise in CGI / VFX and my hands-on crafty skills, I think we’re a perfect match to make stunning and entertaining work. I can’t wait for us to get started!”
Friends Electric EP Barney Richard also has this to say: “Chris’ work is so chock full of great ideas and craft. The direction in the worlds he creates is super filmic and he’s got great storytelling chops, full of humor and charm. To me, Chris has the kind of unique mind that adds so much to an idea, and given a half-decent budget would create something utterly memorable. He’s witty and fun and is a perfect fit for us culturally.”
Chris’ addition to the roster is incredibly exciting and we cannot wait to start working with him and seeing what this incredibly unique mind can create.
