One of the standout films from the 2019 class at French animation school Gobelins, Déjeuner sur l’herbe (Lunch on the Grass) tracks a famous scientist whose bedrock skepticism (and life) is shattered after a UFO encounter.

Filled with grand themes, wonderful details, and nuanced characters, the film asks many questions while leaving most of the answers up to you.
