David Coquard-Dassault’s Bleak and Beautiful “Peripheria”

Five years after its premiere at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, David Coquard-Dassault’s somber and evocative post-apocalyptic vision “Peripheria” lands online in the middle of a real-world pre-apocalypse.

David Coquard-Dassault, art director and concept artist in Paris: “[The film is] a journey into the heart of a large and abandoned council estate.

“Peripheria portrays an urban environment becoming wild: a modern Pompeii where the wind blows and dogs roam, tailing the remains of human life.”
