From the release:
Berlin 8th May 2018 — ManvsMachine London Creative Director Curtis Baigent and Head of 3D Matthias Winckelmann join ZEITGUISED’s foam Studio, as co-founders alongside Henrik Mauler and Helge Kiehl, to consolidate and grow the tandem artistic and commercial offerings of the two studios.
The award-winning duo are warmly welcomed to foam Studio, bringing with them a wealth of experience and rich multifaceted skill sets which traverse direction, creative, animation & design. Originally hailing from New Zealand, Curtis has travelled the creative world with his skills. He has worked in Auckland, Paris and, more recently, London, where he picked up a D&AD Black Pencil for his co-direction on MvsM’s Film4 rebrand.
Matthias has worked with major clients across Europe, China and the US for several years. Before his time at ManvsMachine in London. His creative expertise in the 3D world has been showcased at talks on numerous conferences, while at the same time bringing a strong management backbone to the table. Combined the pair have worked for an enviable list of brands including Nike, Apple, Honda, Audi, ITV, Squarespace, Channel4 and Toshiba.
Commenting on their new positions, Curtis and Matthias say: ”With ZEITGUISED’s tireless and infallible trail blazing, at the cutting edge of pop culture, we’ve found ourselves on extremely fertile creative soil. We’re excited to grow foam Studio as a progressive commercial service that not only caters to brand communication and design but one that also champions artistic expression and conceptual inventiveness. We see foam Studio as a visual trend lab, defining the next big thing rather than following the mainstream. We genuinely feel that we have something incredibly unique here and are looking forward to seeing what comes out of it.”
Henrik Mauler comments: “Curtis and Matthias are completing a stellar team that has been a long time in the making. With their acute eyes and exceptional insight and experience in the industry, I am looking forward to propel the tandem studio further on the trajectory of visual exquisiteness that we initialized with ZEITGUISED in 2001. We’re now well rounded and extremely attractive for progressive clients who are looking to making a difference in an oversaturated visual world. I am very excited that they both decided to join at the same time, which gives us a double boost to launch the most creatively rich, potent and exciting version of the studio that we have ever had.”
