Corina Capuano Joins Makine as Chief Brand Officer

From the release:

Creative studio Makiné welcomes former FX Networks and Fox International Channels executive Corina Capuano as Chief Brand Officer. The addition continues the strategic efforts of CEO Maria Alejandra Padua to reshape Makiné’s C-suite to enhance its branding and marketing offerings to entertainment, advertising, media, and technology clients worldwide. As part of this, Jesus M. Rodriguez moves into the role of Chief Creative Officer, and Alberto Hadyar assumes the title of Chief Design Officer.

At Makiné, the multi-awarded Capuano served as creative director on the recent Disney Jr. refresh, working closely with Hadyar, who led as Executive Creative Director. The studio is also spearheading the Disney Channel rebrand.

“Cori is a true trailblazer on a global scale, opening the doors for many agencies, designers, and women throughout her career as an entertainment executive,” says Padua. “She’s not just a marketer; she’s on the frontlines as a strategic thinker and creative leader, ensuring all decision-makers and partners are in lockstep from the big-picture concept to the minor design details. Cori brings a deep passion for the brand development process and mastery as a cultural and visual translator.”

“It was important to join a place that provides a joyful experience and surrounds you with good people and beautiful work,” adds Capuano. “Makiné is all these things and wholeheartedly embraces my brand strategy and design expertise. I want people to come to us because we’re inspiring the world. With my brand-side experience, I can have an active voice and make meaningful business connections within entertainment and beyond. I can’t wait to be out there helping our clients create an ethos for their services and products, not just their visuals.”

Most recently, Capuano was VP of Creative at FX Networks, a role she held for several years, overseeing campaigns for FX Originals shows, including Pose, Cake, and The Premise. She was part of the FX Diversity and Inclusion team, leading all PSA campaigns and social justice initiatives for the network, and a member of an internal task force, developing topics for discussion within the company. Here, Capuano first collaborated with Makiné on the “Fearless Pioneers” campaign for Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month.

“We just had amazing synergy from the get-go,” says Capuano. “We spoke the same language regarding ideas, visuals, and design, so communication was seamless. They could take everything I had in mind and elevate it exponentially. I pushed for them as a go-to partner since they understood how to make an impact with our multicultural and social justice initiatives.”

Before FX, Capuano led the Fox International creative team in charge of the rebrands for Fox Entertainment, Fox Sports Global, Nat Geo Mundo, and other Fox sub-brands internationally. In addition, she spearheaded the international campaign for the renowned series The Walking Dead. Capuano also spent over a decade as a VP at Fox LATAM Channels in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she pioneered the Fox LATAM Creative Hub, building an in-house agency serving Latin America, Europe, and Asia from the ground up.

A frequent lecturer on the art of television, design, and communications, Capuano has also taught Design and Typography at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her work has been recognized by the New York Festivals, Clios, FIAP, and Promax.
