Join the crew at Tigrelab in Barcelona as they reveal how leveraging Stable Diffusion and Unreal Engine helped push the timeless technique of collage animation into the present for British perfume brand Penhaligon.
Federico Gonzalez, Tigrelab CD: “The international fragrance company, Puig, reached out to our studio with the aim to transport audiences back to the 1870s, immersing them in William Penhaligon’s secret fragrance workshop.
“As part of our creative process, we explored the potential of artificial intelligence using Stable Diffusion to generate hundreds of images that we used as stock footage in our collage designs. This allowed us to create a surreal and stylized world as an alchemy machine, adding a unique touch.
“To bring our main character to life, we created a digital avatar from scratch through Metahuman. To give him movement, we used Unreal Engine to design the key postures of his body which were then animated in After Effects, looking for a more handcrafted style of movement with 2D techniques, moving away from full CGI animation.”
