Director/animator Michael Emry at IMAGE+NOISE in LA teams with UK director/visual artist Troy Browne for a bold spec motion piece built around the power and mystique of Air Jordan basketball shoes.

Michael Emry: “The mission was to create a vibrant, quirky world of myth and adventure around Nike’s most iconic shoes. Similar to how swords were revered in old legends, the shoes would seem like secret artifacts bestowed upon the brave and bold to aid them on their journey to great trials and deeds. Think Excalibur, but for your feet.

“This narrative framework blended perfectly with Troy Browne’s colorful collage style of design. His masterfully rough and eclectic aesthetic allowed us to create fun hybrid characters with one foot in fantasy and one in the present, such as a wandering pilgrim with modern clothing or a cyclops covered in biker tattoos.”
