From the release:
Creative studio Aggressive today announces its expansion into a bigger collective: Loop, Niceshit, Andrey Trevgoda, and Melody Maker, alongside the company’s founders Alex Topaller and Daniel Shapiro.
Loop
Loop is a multidisciplinary collective specializing in creative and art direction, visual storytelling, and motion design. Its design-driven versatility shines through in its ability to adapt to varied styles and canvases, from large-scale experiential visuals to elegant and minimal wallpapers. Its portfolio includes cutting-edge videos for Adidas, and data-inspired projects for Intel, as well as cinematic and atmospheric opening sequences for Amazon’s ‘Inside The Boys’.
Loop comments: “We started working in the US market with Aggressive a long time ago and have done a massive amount of work together – some for huge brands, others for smaller, but always creating some of the best work out there. They’re our friends, and we’ve grown together even during the hardest of times, from war to covid. Connections like that don’t come around too often, and I consider us very lucky.”
Niceshit
Barcelona-based trio Niceshit is formed of Carmen Angelillo, Guido Lambertini, and Rodier Kidmann. The three curious minds collaborate on innovative illustration and animation work that leaves a lasting impression, notable for its playful character design, bold colours, and humorous narratives.
From elegant line-driven projects for Google and Offline CBD, to complex 2D mixed with 3D pieces like ‘The Feelings’ or live-action driven ‘Shoe Show’, the team executes the highest standards for major brands, businesses and charities all over the world.
Niceshit comments: “Having worked together on countless projects over the past decade, we feel like Aggressive has already been a partner to us. We are honoured to be part of this next step where everything is going to get cooler, bigger, and more exciting.
Aggressive embodies the key features we need in a partner: they’re fearless and loyal – and just nice people. They’ve pushed our limits and helped us to realise opportunities with clients we previously couldn’t imagine, making us feel anything is possible. They’ve always had our back and been honest and transparent, something we truly appreciate.”
Andrey Trevgoda
Creative commercial and music video director Andrey Trevgoda is set apart by his distinct style, using his visual language to solve communication problems over multi-format media for brands such as VICE, TikTok, and Nestlé.
With a background in graphic design, CGI, VFX, and filmmaking, Andrey mixes disciplines to create stunning visuals that use the latest tech to push boundaries. His youthful style can be seen in Fonbet’s ‘You Are In’, and Demix’s ‘Real Motivation’, while his love for mixed media shines through in viral adidas series ‘Ozweego’ and his campaigns for Revo.
Andrey Trevgoda comments: “I’ve met Aggressive in a quite transitional period of my life, and quickly understood that these guys are special and like-minded. I’m truly excited about the things that are coming for us.”
Melody Maker
Melody started out styling artists like M.I.A., Rihanna, and Iggy Azalea before joining the cult youth brand BOY London as creative director.
A veteran of The Mill, Melody couples her love of CG with an inquisitive mind to create provocative content like her music videos for Gorgon City and Greentea Peng. Her obsession with movement and experimental filming techniques has led to visual masterpieces such as the gravity-defying Oppo ‘Shake’, as well as films for clients such as Logitech, Gillette and Herbal Essences.
Melody Maker comments: “I am thrilled to join forces with the Aggressive team. We share an unwavering commitment to pushing the limits of creativity and fearlessly venturing into uncharted territories. I am truly excited to be on this journey with the whole team and for the projects that lie ahead.”
Aggressive
Rounding off the new collective are the duo that founded the creative studio: Grammy-winning filmmakers Alex Topaller and Daniel Shapiro, whose other accolades include MTV VMA, The One Show, and D&AD awards. Their experiences, exhibited at SXSW, Global Expo Dubai, and The UN General Assembly, have been covered by WIRED, Vogue, The New York Times, Vanity Fair and American Cinematographer.
The pair have crafted music videos for The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Pharrell Williams, an XR concert for Alicia Keys, and commercials for Acura, Intel, Budweiser, Google, and OnePlus. Most recently, their experiential film ‘MURALS’, which uses 3D scans and Banksy artwork to tell a story of the Ukraine war, premiered at Cannes Film Festival 2023, while their science fiction film ‘Escape Attempt’ is due to premiere at Sitges Festival this October.
Alex Topaller comments: “With most of the dear friends assembled under the Aggressive banner, we have been collaborating and walking through life for over a decade, so this is just a natural progression. We’ve been technique agnostic since our inception, and the bigger and more varied our team, the more opportunities there are for us to craft truly innovative, impactful and inspiring work, while making sure that each frame is “Aggressive”.”
