Director/animator Sava Zivkovic, whose talents for sci-fi storytelling we’ve followed for a while, walks Stash fans thru the creation of his launch trailer for the political strategy game Solium Infernum.
Sava Zivkovic: “This trailer was inspired by Milton’s Paradise Lost and Fritz Lang’s Die Nibelungen. Our clients at League of Geeks didn’t want a typical ‘fire and brimstone’ cliché of Hell. Instead, we created a desolate but no less formidable world.
“The trailer was produced at Hydra Studios in Glasgow, where I’ve had the pleasure to collaborate with some old friends, testing out new and exciting workflows.
“We started with a previz in Blender, I’ve been using it for previz purposes over the past few years and the power of Eevee Viewport Render allowed me to very accurately depict the visual direction and cinematography for the trailer very early on in the process.
“Once the previz was locked, the team at Hydra ingested the previz and took it to the finish line. Hydra’s workflow and pipeline is based on Houdini which allows an incredible degree of flexibility and quality when approaching projects such as this one.”
