New York, NY — (October 5, 2018) — Creative content company Alkemy X has expanded its directorial roster with the additions of Robert Boocheck and Jordan Fein. At Alkemy X, Boocheck has already wrapped a campaign for event-driven messaging platform Solace via The Barbarian Group while Fein recently shot a commercial for Penn State Health. The two will be based out of the company’s New York office.
“Through these new partnerships with Rob and Jordan, we’re building on our creative capabilities in comedy and documentary storytelling, two categories that are hugely important to us,” says Jim Huie, Alkemy X Director of Production. “Rob has extensive experience as a commercial director and creative director/writer working with both agencies and networks. His skill set is a perfect fit for Alkemy’s diverse clientele. Jordan is not only an accomplished visual storyteller who’s collaborated with great brands, but he’s also a talented documentarian in his own right.”
A comedy/dialogue director with a flair for strong art direction, Boocheck was most recently repped by Honor Society. He was previously signed with such companies as Click3X and Oil Factory. Boocheck launched his film career working for director Sam Raimi, and has since directed campaigns for such brands as Google, State Farm, Toyota, and Ray-Ban, as well as the recent comedic “Sometimes, Naked Is Better” spots for Wonderful Pistachios. His music videos credits include seminal punk and indie bands, such as Bad Religion and Death Cab For Cutie.
Boocheck’s commercial work has earned Clio, One Show, and Addy awards, while his short films have been shown at major festivals including Telluride, Toronto International Film Festival, and Fantastic Fest. Equally skilled in the creative direction of character animation and VFX, his video work has been featured as an exhibit at the MOCA in Los Angeles.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join the team at Alkemy X,” says Boocheck. “Their approach to production is the future of our industry by offering everything from creative concepting to production and post. Plus, they’re just a really great group of people. Alkemy X’s unique capabilities take full advantage of my experience as both a Director and Creative Director, which has already led us to collaborate on some amazing work.”
Fein is known for his beautiful cinematic style and ability to honestly capture human moments with authenticity. He joins Alkemy X after being repped by Hone Production, where he helmed campaigns for Squarespace, Range Rover, Verizon, and Adobe. Before that, he was with 1stAveMachine, where his “Highway Robbery” spot for Volvo was awarded three Cannes Lions, a Clio Award, and a One Show Award in 2016.
Fein is an alumnus of the NYU Film Program and the Panavision New Filmmakers Program and is a recipient of support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the International Documentary Association, and more recently, the Points North Fellowship for co-directing his first documentary feature, “The Blessing.” As a filmmaker, he’s garnered a Grand Jury Prize at the Dallas International Film Festival, Best Feature Documentary at the Arizona International Film Festival, and Best of Fest at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival.
“I’m excited to join the Alkemy X family, a forward-thinking team with a strong track record in advertising and cinema,” concludes Fein. “I know our partnership will lead to impactful filmmaking, and nothing less.”
