Glassworks Weaves Beautiful Branding for British Arrows

Standing out in the crowded world of advertising awards is a constant challenge but the 2025 British Arrows do it in style with this elaborate and tasteful CG work from director Rüdiger Kaltenhäuser and the motion crew at Glassworks.

From the team at Glassworks: “As the show’s graphics partner, we brought the theme of ‘Digital Weave’ to life in a way that felt both intricate and delightful to watch. Rüdiger Kaltenhäuser conceptualized a striking flag design that embodied the idea of weaving digital and physical artistry together.
 

“Every structure was built using authentic weaving techniques, capturing the nuances of real-life craftsmanship in a digital space.”

 
“Drawing from the base shapes of the British Arrows logo, we developed two distinct weaving techniques – one for metal and one for thread – creating an interplay between structure and fluidity. The contrast between these materials became the foundation of the final flag design.

“Instead of simulating the yarn animation, the team hand-animated each sequence to ensure the motion felt dynamic, and real. Every structure was built using authentic weaving techniques, capturing the nuances of real-life craftsmanship in a digital space.

“In terms of process, we first designed a the high-detail 3D flag asset. This served as the backbone of the entire production – allowing us to break it down, rebuild it, and animate each shot with precision. Once complete, all CG elements were brought together in Nuke.”
