Malota and Friends Muse on the Magic of Music in “When I Sing” Short Film

Spanish illustrator Mar Hernández (aka Malota) directs this quirky personal short film with the vibrant animation handled by her roster mates from Barcelona prodco Brut, David Borrull (aka Maliboo) and Juan Behrens.

From Brut: “‘When I Sing’ is a heartfelt project conceived and directed by Malota, with the team at Brut pouring their creativity into bringing this deeply personal yet universal story to life. Every stroke, every sound, and every movement in this short film seeks to connect with the profound emotions we all carry inside.”

Malota: “It’s that when I’m feeling sad, singing lifts me out of that state of mind and takes me somewhere else. It’s like magic happens — it makes me feel better. This film is a celebration of the unique power music has to transform our emotions and bring us back to ourselves.”
