In their latest for the ubiquitous foam footwear brand Crocs, Bark&Bite in London takes a fashion-forward approach, merging live-action and 3D motion design into a quick blast of style for the Overpuff Cyber Clog.

Lee Roberts, CD at Bark&Bite: “Such a bold product range required a bold visual narrative. We wanted to match the energy of these new silhouettes and bring the idea of Puff Mode into everything we did, from the typography and the pumped-up color palette, to the edit and motion assets.

“Our main challenge was to marry the purely 3D scenes with the live action footage. We achieved this by matching the environment materials and paying close attention to the lighting style, we also considered the buoyancy of the real-world inflatables used on the shoot.

“We wanted the transition between the off-body and on-body scenes to feel as seamless as possible. A lot of work went into the 3D process, developing ways to deform complex 3D models onto simulation geometry and getting inflation simulations to react to one another.”
