Illogic Studios, the collective of French directors who scored an Oscar nom with their 2016 grad film Garden Party, just released the first teaser for their CG feature film, a buddy comedy adventure called Scavengers.

From Illogic (Victor Caire, Théophile Dufresne, Gabriel Grapperon, and Lucas Navarro): “The film follows the journey of a lazy rat and a resourceful frog trying to maintain their lifestyle in a gigantic city made of trash. The film aims to take a deep dive into the consumer culture obsession, a satire of the modern society full of comfort and consumption.

“We want to give this project a wacky and quirky touch. Each of the human objects present in the environment is used by the animals in a surprising and inventive way. The challenge is to bring poetry and a surprising look to these discarded items. It is a challenge which, if successful, has the potential to create a singular world.”

The project was unveiled at the 2023 Annecy Film Festival where it was selected for the MIFA pitch session with major distributors and producing companies. The film is under development and the studio is still looking for partners.”
