I’ll bet dental tech product videos are not what come to mind when you think of visual excitement but the motion crew at Aydream in Seoul saw this project for Korean digital healthcare startup Arcreal in a different light.

Jimmy Jung, project manager at Aydream: “Arcreal reached out to us when they were about to release their first product, the Arcscan Intraoral Scanner, a hand-held device that allows dentists to quickly create 3D models of a patient’s teeth.

“One of the client’s main goals was to be different from the usual boring medical industry videos. They wanted to give the dentists and the buyers a feeling that Arcreal is a new and knowledgeable contender in the industry.
 

“We proposed some bold visuals and effects to the Arcreal team. Mostly they were very open to our suggestions but they also needed us to visualize their product and the software correctly as well.”

 
“Our first step in this challenge was selecting a unique music track. We thought a typical product video music vibe won’t make it pop out from their competitors so we went through hundreds of tracks to find one. In the end, our art director found one that suits perfectly and from there we started production.

“We proposed some bold visuals and effects to the Arcreal team. Mostly they were very open to our suggestions but they also needed us to visualize their product and the software correctly as well. That was the second challenging step.

“We had to find a way to balance between making it look different, but also very professional and reliable. In the end, we balanced it out by giving some dramatic lighting to settle the mood and keep the motion dynamic.

“Overall, this project was a huge challenge right up until the end, but Arcreal was able to showcase their product successfully and attract numerous buyers at a live event. Arcreal told us that not only did crowds form to watch the video but some people were dancing to it!”
